AKA Recruitment are working with a fantastic family run business in the Blackburn area looking to bring in a HR Manager paying between £35k & £45k per year.
Duties
• Manage employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinary, grievances, absence, performance reviews, retirement, redundancy etc.
• Apply HR and business knowledge evidencing appropriate decision-making skills.
• Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them.
• To create and develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
• Provide first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers.
• To keep the Finance Manager appraised of any payroll or personnel changes.
• Assist in managing and processing payroll.
• Work with appropriate parties on reward strategy.
• Keep abreast of the latest legal requirements and changes and ensure the company is compliant.
• Drive the recruitment process to include writing job descriptions and preparing interview questions and application forms etc.
• Carry out new starter inductions where required in conjunction with team leaders and management.
• Maintaining records about Health & Safety – Accidents on site & Office.
• Investigating accidents, health related complaints and cases of ill-health.
• Developing policies & procedures around Health & Safety and ensuring they are implemented.
• Organising training and communications on keeping safe at work.
• Overseeing distribution and logging of PPE for site staff.
• Onboarding of all subcontractors.
• Overseeing maintenance and distribution of first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
• Overseeing maintenance and logging of company tools and equipment.
• Ensuring personnel qualifications, training, DBS checks, Driving Licences etc. are kept up to date.
• Arranging Company insurances – Fleet, Combined, PI & Cyber.
• Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
• Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
• Supervising and monitoring customer service/admin assistant.
• Build, create and maintain partnerships with local schools and training providers.
• Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
• Support change management processes.
• Updating Customer Terms & Conditions & Disclaimers.
• Overseeing ordering and logging of company mobile phones and office phones.
• Provide Ad hoc holiday cover and general support for Finance department
Requirements
• Ability to demonstrate confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with HR issues, especially when handling sensitive situations and information.
• Highly organised with the ability to handle conflicting demands and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Ability to work in a proactive manner, able to identify solutions and implement changes effectively
• MS Office, Google Docs.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• CIPD qualified.
• Positive attitude and committed to continuous improvements.
