Location: IB (International Baccalaureate®) Global Centre in The Hague, NL or Cardiff, U.K.

About the Job

The Head of HR Transformation & Effectiveness will design, deliver, and embed the strategy for the IBO’s “transform our organization” program. Reporting to the Head of Global HR and leading a diverse team of 4, this role collaborates with the Executive Team, senior leaders, regional HR teams, and business stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and optimize ways of working.

This senior role requires significant HR experience, including HR project/change management. The Head will analyse insights to measure current effectiveness, identify necessary changes, and incorporate best practices to deliver global solutions. They will drive and embed change across the IB, setting standards, policies, and processes for regional HR teams.

Leading a globally diverse team and working with leaders across departments, the postholder will measure the impact of delivery and adapt to meet future needs.

About You

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Professional or academic qualification, e.g. CIPD, and/or extensive demonstrable experience of working in a strategic HR capacity
  • Excellent understanding of broader operational HR 
  • Experience in designing, managing and implementing HR transformation projects
  • Strong team and stakeholder focus with the ability to plan and manage cross organizational projects

Problem-solving and decision-making:

  • Independent thinking required to define how the strategy can be delivered in practice, with a need to prepare and communicate plans, prioritize and sequence projects and activity appropriately
  • Ability to be adaptive, using significant judgement when dealing with grey areas, and developing solutions through analytical, interpretive, evaluative, creative and innovative thinking
  • Able to draw connections between the strategy/big picture and tactical action plans 
  • Able to detect root cause of problems, and able to deliver continuous improvements and pragmatic solutions
  • Able to pivot approaches to changing expectations and shifting priorities
  • Require managing priorities, initiatives, reaching agreements and achieving goals
  • Require managing multiple stakeholders effectively, developing solutions & plans with different inputs, escalating risks/issues, meeting deadlines, and achieving quality outcomes in their domain of work.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders and staff at all levels of the organization, and build trusting relationships, requiring significant personal influence.
  • Cultural change leadership
  • Ability to inspire, influence, develop and motivate people to change behavior
  • Adept at developing appropriate relationships with multiple audiences, adapting as necessary according to the audience
  • Proven effective project management, communication and collaboration skills
  • Solution oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
