THE ROLE

This role is a maternity cover position on a fixed term contract for 9-12 months. We are looking for someone to start mid-May 2025.

Reporting into the COO, the HR Director, UK & EU (mat cover) will have both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities across our UK, France and Germany markets, helping us to plan and execute core HR business functions, such as employee relations, training and development, global HR projects, compensation and benefits.

This role is a full time, fixed term position and works within our current hybrid working structure, where you will be expected to work within our office in London at a minimum 3 days per week.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organisation’s goals and strategy related to Human Resources
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Plan, lead, develop, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organisation’s human resource compliance and strategic needs
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Monitors and ensures the organisation’s compliance with UK/EU laws
  • local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
  • reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organisational change, and all other employee-relations matters. This expands into matters with our field staff as well as HQ environment.
  • Develop direct talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans and working with managers through the entire process.
  • Manage and lead the development of our annual mentoring programme (Elevation) – increase popularity, build application process, match mentors and mentees, build on success of previous years, evaluate progress and review feedback in order to implement future development opportunities.
  • Maintain and utilise our internal HRIS to ensure data consistency and usage to drive decision making.
  • Working with the Finance team ensuring monthly payroll data is processed accurately
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Constant improvement and development for onboarding, new hire orientation, offboarding and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Oversee and support line managers with annual review process/personal development plans – assesses training needs
  • Measure and build strategy to drive cultural health, suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organisation as a whole, and to improve employee experience
  • Lead in all our DEI efforts and action plans
  • Line Management responsibilities for EU HR direct report.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
  • Proven experience working in a HR department
  • Natural interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of HR international laws and regulations - particular knowledge of France, Germany and UK required
  • Language skills desirable although not essential

SALARY AND BENEFITS

This role offers a salary between £70,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
